Here at the Somerset County Maryland Republican Party, we firmly believe that the correct path for the continued prosperity of our beloved county is to continue to adhere to the belief that government works best when it is small, efficient and fiscally responsible; that society advances when government strives to create an environment for businesses and private industry to thrive; is dedicated to the principle that society has an obligation to help those that cannot help themselves; is dedicated to the proposition that we were all created equal in the eyes of God; and that discrimination at any level must not be tolerated. This philosophy is not unique to Republicans. Many Marylanders of all political parties believe in and embrace these ideals.
